About The Founder

Danielle Brown, MSW, CCTP, is a visionary leader who has dedicated her life to enhancing the lives of individuals and families. Born in Newark, N.J., Danielle's journey led her to Charlotte, N.C., where she embarked on a remarkable path of service, education, and empowerment.

Educated within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system, Danielle’s passion for making a difference began to take shape early. Her determination and commitment were recognized when she became the esteemed recipient of the Maya Angelou Scholarship Award, a testament to her potential for impact. This opportunity led her to Bennett College, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 2016.

Driven by a deep desire to create meaningful change, Danielle continued her education at Johnson C. Smith University, earning her Master’s in Social Work in 2018. Equipped with both knowledge and empathy, she was prepared to translate her education into transformative action.

In 2009, Danielle founded Heavenly Flow, a youth liturgical dance and mime ministry. Through this platform, she empowered young girls not only with dance skills, but with the powerful concept of ministry—instilling the belief that true service begins with being a servant. Her dedication to uplifting youth has remained a cornerstone of her life’s work.

Danielle’s professional journey in social work has spanned diverse settings, including communities, schools, shelters, and agencies. Her expertise in case management has allowed her to impact individuals across a wide range of circumstances. Guided by a passion to uplift at-risk youth, strengthen families, and help individuals discover their purpose, Danielle’s influence continues to grow.

As the founder of Close Knit Family Housing, Danielle has expanded her vision into a mission-driven organization focused on housing stability and long-term empowerment. Guided by the principles of Enhance, Encourage, and Embrace (the 3E’s), Close Knit Family Housing provides holistic support to youth and young adults navigating displacement and housing insecurity. Her commitment to building stronger futures has positioned the organization as a growing force for stability and opportunity within the community.

Danielle Brown’s journey is one of resilience, passion, and unwavering dedication to service. Through her leadership at Close Knit Family Housing, she continues to create pathways from survival to stability—leaving a lasting impact on individuals, families, and the community as a whole.
